WELCOME TO CANADIAN OPTIMIST JUNIOR GOLF

We are here to help you learn more about the Optimist Junior Golf Program which extends from the local to the International level. Also provided is contact information and tournaments schedules for boys and girls that wish to experience tournament golf in a positive environment.

The Canadian Optimist Junior Golf Program is based on a short series of qualifiers to advance to the Canadian Optimist National Junior Golf Championships and the International Junior Golf Championships. The progression of qualifiers starts at the local level with the next stage being an Optimist District Championship for your area. Junior golfers from the District Championships can qualify to attend the Canadian Optimist National and or the Optimist International Golf Championships at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Boys and girls from the ages 10 to 18 including all skill levels are welcome.

Listed below are three Ontario District Championship locations and dates as well as that of the Canadian Optimist National and Optimist International Championships.

Albert Hill Championships - London - June 28, 2013 (older boys.girls); July 6, 2013 (younger boys/girls)

Midwestern Ontario District Championships – St. Marys – July 16th and 17th, 2013

Southwestern Ontario District Championships – Blenheim – July 8th , 2013

Central Ontario District Championships – Caledon – June, 23rd 2013

Canadian Optimist Junior Golf National Championships – London ON – August 19th to 21st , 2013
(August 21st 2013 is the Championship round)

Optimist International Junior Golf Championships ,(OIJGC) Palm Beach Gardens Florida

  • Ages: Boys 10 to 15, Girls 10 to 14 – July 25 to July 30, 2013
  • Ages: Boys 16 to 18, Girls 15 to 18 – July 30 to August 4, 2013

Note: Due to timing issues, most players qualifying for the Optimist International Event will not be able to attend until 2014.
